Based in Tipperary, Abbey Machinery recently launched its Plus range of diet feeders and will be showcasing them to the public at the FTMTA Farm Machinery Show.

The Plus range of models includes the VF2450, VF2650, VF2850 and VF3050. According to Abbey, these 24m3 to 30m3 machines are being aimed at professional milk and meat producers looking to get more from their feeding system, with a longer-life machine.

The auger in the latest range is now 50% thicker than standard models (22mm), making them more robust and durable. Along with this, the new style door wedge allows the mixer to empty faster and more evenly.

Abbey explained that its low auger profile, inflected top knife (for improved bale processing and overall mixing) and high gearbox mounting will be maintained in this series of machines. In addition, there will be a wider base for improved gearbox support and strength.

The Plus models come as standard with a front access platform with a folding ladder to monitor mixing, assess when loads are chopped to the required length or to add minerals. Abbey has also added a new tilt and swinging monitor support that keeps users further away from PTOs.

The diet feeders come with the option of a tubular flat top ring to assist keeping feed in the processing chamber, giving additional strength and reducing waste.

Abbey are now offering a total of 19 different Diet Feeders models ranging from eight to 33 cube, with a wide variety of feed-out options.
