Joseph Murphy had a successful day at Tattersalls, claiming the Connolly’s Red Mills Super League A/CNC2* with Sportsfield Othello, who led from start to finish. He also finished fourth with Fernhill Frankie in the same class.

Murphy was the only rider in the O/CNC2* to have a double clear. He partnered the eight-year-old mare Sportsfield Pennywell to victory in the class.

Both two star divisions caused plenty of problems in both the show jumping and cross country. The one star divisions caused less trouble, although the optimum time cross country proved hard to get. Master Swatch and Stephanie Stammschroer had a lovely double clear to win the O/CNC1*, they head to Millstreet International for the CIC2* this week. Catherine Robinson was the only rider to make the time cross country in the CNC1*, winning the class with Excalibur. Patrick Whelan was hot on her heels, two seconds over the time cross country to finish one mark behind Robinson.

ISH eventing series

In the ISH Eventing Series CNC1* six-year-old class Johnny Mulligan and Randalstown Commando were the only combination inside the time. Despite having one fence down show jumping they won the class. Dressage leader Sarah Ennis and MTH Shannondale Khaleesi dropped down the leader board after lowering a pole in the show jumping and having time penalties in both jumping phases.

Derroon Diplomat, ridden by Sarah Ennis, added another win to his record in the EI100 five-year-old class. The bay gelding, who is owned by Derek McConnell, has won four of his eight starts and finished second three times. Ennis also finished fourth in this class with Stellor Quick Change.

Juniors and ponies

An impressive dressage score of 20.3 put Megan O’Leary in the lead in the CNCJ1* with Silver Brog. Although she added 1.6 time penalties cross country she maintained her lead to win by over 15 marks. Herbie Purce finished second and Daniel Meagher in third.

Romy McCarthy dominated in the EI100 Junior class, winning with Millridge Cara and second with her Junior European Championships mount Miracle. Rose de Montmorency and Rickamore Notion were third.

Fresh off the success of her team silver medal at the FEI Pony European Championships Chloe Fagan won the EI100 pony class with Carbury Cascade. The top three combinations all had double clears. Katie Attley and Sheebas Boy finished second and Robyn McKenna and Freddie were third.

Jill McKenna and Keredern Little Heather won the EI90 pony class.
