Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rain warning for Longford, Louth, Westmeath, Meat, Cavan and Monaghan.

“Slow moving bands of rain or heavy downpours today will lead to spot flooding,” Met Éireann said.

“Rainfall accumulations of 25 to 40mm are possible.”

The rain warning will last from 10am on Saturday 10 August until 10pm the same day.

There is also a blight warning in place.
