Benn Agri is the main supplier of Cri-Man slurry equipment for the Irish market, and for the first time in the Irish or UK market, it will be showcasing the firm’s new range of slurry separators, alongside other kit such as umbilical pumps.

Cri-Man currently offer seven different models of slurry separators. With flow rates from 4m³/h to 50m³/h, power ratings vary from 3kW to 7.5kW with the units capable of withdrawing up to 35% dry matter.

Some features of the latest Cri-Man’s range of separators include an overall new design, a new double, generously sized inspection window that makes checking the filter much easier and a new support inside the filter to improve stress distribution over the entire length of the filter itself.

The mounted unit has two rows of hydraulically controlled sprung levelling boards, a spiked drum fitted with 80mm blades, followed by two rows of hydraulically controlled 12mm tines.

It also features a new, sturdily built front screw press support, a new stainless-steel frame to support the separator, with wider bearing base for improved stability, a new high-efficiency gearbox with improved resistance to severe stress. Instead of the standard screw pressing system with weights, Cri-Man can now supply an electric actuator which it says guarantees stability of the dry percentage when non-homogeneous effluents are separated (on request).

Benn Agri said it has been running the machine since May this year on demo, while doing some contracting work, with extremely good results.

Alstrong

The dealer is also an agent for Alstrong Engineering, and will exhibit both an Auctus mounted-unit alongside one of the manufacturer’s trailed aerators.

The Auctus is a 3m unit designed to sow seed into ploughed ground, burn-off or existing pasture in a one-pass solution. The mounted unit has two rows of hydraulically controlled sprung levelling boards, a spiked drum fitted with 80mm blades, followed by two rows of hydraulically controlled 12mm tines. Alstrong uses the Kildare-manufactured Doyle pneumatic seeder.

The Auctus is a 3m unit designed to sow seed into ploughed ground, burn-off or existing pasture in a one-pass solution.

Its toothed-roller aerator, available in 2.5m or 3m working widths, will also be on the stand. It’s designed to a break hard pan up to 30cm deep. The 2.5m and 3m models have dry weights of 2.7t and 3t respectively. When filled with water, maximum operating weights increase to 5t and 5.5t respectively. The drum is fitted with 15mm hardened steel blades designed to penetrate the soil, altering its structure and allowing air into the ground.

Self-drive hire

In recent years, the company has been building a self-drive hire business comprising of tractors, loading shovels, dump trailers and grain and silage trailers. It will be showing some of its hire fleet at the event this year.
