A pair of similar sized residential farm holdings at either end of west Cork have come to the market during January with Clonakilty-based Hodnett Forde Property Services.
Both offer traditional-style two-story farmhouses that qualify for the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant and come with good acreage.
The first of the two is a circa 51ac holding at Keelnacronagh, Enniskeane.
Roughly 15km from both Bandon and Dunmanway, this property is a little over 2km north of Enniskeane village. It is guided in the region of €700,000.

The 64ac residential farm near Kealkil in west Cork is for sale by private treaty.
Keelnacronagh is a 51-acre residential farm holding laid out in good quality pasture. Available in its entire or in two lots. The land is currently in grass.
Lot 1 extends to 37ac and includes the house, with 14ac included in Lot 2. There are no BISS entitlements offered with this farm.

The traditional two-storey dwelling has five bedrooms and includes a modern extension at the rear that was built about 15 years ago.
There are a number of outbuildings to the rear and side of the dwelling and could be useful for storage or workspace.
The second property is further west and consists of 64ac at Incharoe, Kealkil.
It’s located in a sheltered valley about 9km from Kealkil and Ballingeary. This property is 2km off the R584 road that links the two villages.

The holding has a mix of grazing, rough grazing and forestry land all within one secure division. Sitting centrally in the property, the three-bedroom farmhouse is structurally sound, but it would benefit from modernisation.
There are some outbuildings alongside one gable, with an old-style haybarn, cattle house and general-purpose outbuildings also included.
There are BISS entitlements of €3,200 included in this sale. This property is guided in the region of €450,000 to €500,000.
Regarding the two farms, auctioneer John Hodnett said: “Demand is good, those types of traditional farms are in good demand from both hobby farmers and local farmers and interest has been good so far with the Enniskeane farm under offer already.
"Traditionally, west Cork always had a good market for those types of houses and that’s not showing any sign of letting up.”
