The average UK farm has a net worth of nearly £1.3m, over £130,000 more than the Dutch who are in second place according to The EU’s 2015 Farm Accountancy Data Network. The lowest farm values are found in Romania who have a net worth of just over £26,000 just over half the size of the next smallest Bulgaria who have a £48,000 net worth.
The country with the highest average gross investment was Slovakia who spent £74,000 per farm, with the UK with £30,535 of investments. Long- and medium-term loans were highest in Denmark who were borrowing an average of £972,297 per farm. The UK was in fifth place with £143,187 per farm. Farmers who borrowed the least were in Greece, who saw only £18 in loans on average.
