Mullinahone Co-op has reduced the price of its calf tags for two weeks in order, it says, to pass on to farmers its savings from not attending the National Ploughing Championships.

The co-op values the event for meeting farmer customers but the championships are cancelled due to COVID-19.

From 15 to 30 September, Mullinahone will charge €2.80 per set for visual tags and €3.80 for electronic.

VAT reduction

The co-op says it has also passed on the reduction in VAT – the Government dropped the top rate from 23% to 21%, again because of COVID-19 – and claims that it is the only tag supplier that has yet done so.

Mullinahone claims that its EID tags are now the cheapest available with a price advantage of up to 10%.
