Billionaire Elon Musk is planning on awarding a $100m prize for the best carbon capture technology. Last week he was launching SpaceX rockets and this week the owner of Tesla is announcing the finer details on how to receive the $100m donation.

Hopefully someone comes up with a better plan than reducing the national herd or flooding the countryside.

The sooner we can get an accurate measurement on carbon, the better for Irish agriculture.

All those hedgerows, trees, permanent grasslands, cover crops, the list goes on, are sequestering some of the emissions.
