Following a wet night, the last of the rain is forecast to clear early on Wednesday.

Met Éireann is forecasting a largely dry but cloudy day on Wednesday, with just limited sunny spells.

It looks set to be a cloudy day in Screggan, with highs of 16°C in the afternoon.

After a day of canvassing on Tuesday, the three presidential candidates are set to appear again in Screggan for day two. Catherine Connolly, Jim Gavin and Heather Humphreys are all expected on site.

The all-Ireland lamb shearing championships will take place from 9am, while the welly competition will run from 10am to 12pm.

The winners of the Certified Angus School Competition are to be announced around 10.30am.

The Irish Simmental national calf finals will also take place this Wednesday.

Irish Farmers Journal stand

On the Irish Farmers Journal stand, the Kennedy brothers return for day two and Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae will also be in attendance to talk health and wellbeing on the farm.

There will be a live Farm Tech Talk at 10.30am and again at 2.30pm. 'In the Tillage Fields' with Siobhán Walsh is on at 11.30am, while 'Under the Bonnet' with the machinery team is on at 2pm.

The 'Great Big Agri Quiz' will take place at 3.30pm on Wednesday.
