The farming world is gearing up for the National Ploughing Championships, which take place next week at Screggan, Tullamore.

RTÉ has a jam-packed lineup for the event, with broadcasts across television, radio and online. The highlight is The Ploughing Live, which will air each evening from the Tullamore site.

The show made its debut last year and featured a mix of music, weather, interviews, news and a wrap-up of the day’s events from the Ploughing.

We have put an exciting programme in place

RTÉ director general Dee Forbes said the show gives the broadcaster the chance to meet the thousands of visitors to the event and put on a great show.

“We have put an exciting programme in place for this year’s Ploughing and I hope that the thousands of people who visit our set enjoy another great RTÉ experience.”

The show will feature musical performances from some of the biggest stars on the Irish country music scene.

Spaces are still available in the live studio audience for the show and can be found by contacting theploughinglive@gmail.com.
