Angus Woods is the favourite to win the IFA presidential election, according to odds revealed by betting company Paddy Power.

It has put Woods down as the even-money favourite to win.

“Paddy Power make[s] Angus Woods our even-money favourite given his current position as the chairman of the IFA’s national livestock committee,” a spokesperson for Paddy Power told the Irish Farmers Journal.

John Coughlan is coming in at 2/1 to win the election, with Paddy Power saying he is “also a force to be reckoned with and is regarded very highly amongst his fellow farmers in the Munster area”.

Tipperary man Tim Cullinan is currently the outsider in the race, with his odds of winning standing at 4/1.

“Tim Cullinan is our current outsider – sadly someone has to be," the spokesperson said, adding "He seems as passionate as anyone when it comes to farming incomes.
