Co Antrim-based farm machinery manufacturers Quad-X and Blaney Agri will be showcasing their latest innovations in ATV machinery and other machinery on stand 401 at 2019 FTMTA Farm Machinery Show.

Quad-X manufactures more than 100 attachments for ATVs, while Blaney Agri produces a range of machines for tractor use.

Quad-X will be exhibiting the new Pro Spreader fertiliser spreader, Wipeout weed wiper as well as sprayers and booms. The Quad-X spreaders use stainless steel components and a seven-stage finishing process for resistance to wet weather conditions and the corrosive fertiliser. The frame is claimed to be up to 85% stronger than other competitors and the axles are fitted with a triple bearing system.

The Quad-X spreader has a 465l capacity; with optional extension sides this jumps to 680l. It is ground-driven and the spreading width is adjusted by forward speed.

Quad-X supplies a wide range of sprayers and booms and weed wipers suitable to use with any quad, UTV or 4x4. The Quad-X Wipeout which will be on display can detect weeds and apply chemical automatically, allowing the operator to concentrate on driving. Quad-X claims the Wipeout can ensure a weed kill of up to 100% in one pass and it has been shown to save up to 97% in chemical costs.

Blaney Agri will also be showing a selection of machinery for hedge-cutting, feeding and bedding and weed control. The new HDX Excavator Cutting Head will make its debut in Ireland. This heavy-duty, high-durability model is intended for contractor use.

The Blaney HDX head uses a high-speed dynamic rotor which works in combination with integrated shark fin blades for finer chopping. The skids are height-adjustable for hedge-cutting, tackling rushes and scrub. Blaney will also be showcasing the C600 hedgecutter featuring Blaney’s power-shredding technology.

Blaney is well known for bale unrollers, especially the Forager X10. This machine is said to reduce bale waste by around 20%. It is designed to be a one-man and one-tractor operation to feed out wet and misshapen bales.

Blaney Agri will be exhibiting the TGS Grassland sprayer with Deluxe boom in capacities from 400l to 1,300l. They come equipped with clean water tank, hand wash tank, low fill height with steps each side for easy access to lids and an easy-to-read level gauge. The sprayers have two main filters, filters in all nozzles, valve filters and a basket filter.

Blaney loaders on show

Blaney Motor Company will have the compact L1 10-27 pivot-steer loader, powered by a 40hp engine on display. Blaney loaders are fitted with a hydrostatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive limited slip differential. They are compact and have a 1t lift capacity and a reach of 3.3m for the telescopic versions. Their size allows them to access hard-to-reach areas while their weight allows them to be transported under 3.5t.
