Over 14,955 Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS II) approvals have issued to date.

However, before a farmer can gain approval, his/her application must be 100% accurate in order to be accepted into the scheme.

The Department of Agriculture has outlined the six most common mistakes made at application:

  • 1. Full planning permission not in place at time of application.
  • 2. Client/agent association not in place.
  • 3. Young farmer declaration not submitted.
  • 4. Company documents not submitted.
  • 5. Farmyard plan – fencing and gateways and investments not indicated.
  • 6. Less than the minimum amount of investment €2,000 (€5,000 in the case of Low Emission Slurry Scheme) applied for.
