Tonight will be very cold and blustery with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow.

The snow will occur mainly over high ground, but is also possible at lower levels, especially inland according to Met Éireann.

Feeling bitterly cold with minimum temperatures ranging from -2° to -6°C .

Widespread severe frost with extensive and hazardous icy patches.

Friday will also be very cold but brighter day. Frost and ice will be widespread during the morning and may linger in some inland areas through the day.

Most areas will be dry with sunny spells, but passing wintry showers may affect some northern and eastern coasts. Temperatures will sit between 2° to 5°C by afternoon.
