A mix of cloud and sunny spells are forecast on Friday, the best of which will be in the eastern half of the country.

Met Éireann said it will be generally dry, with just some showers skirting coastal fringes of Munster and Connacht.

Highest temperatures will range from 5°C to 9°C in light to moderate southeasterly winds, freshening at times along Atlantic coasts.

It will hold dry for most of the country on Friday night, with rain and drizzle just affecting Atlantic coasts.

Lowest temperatures will range from -1°C to 1°C in the north and east, with some frost developing, to 2°C to 4°C in the west and south.

Saturday

Saturday is forecast to be generally cloudy with limited bright spells.

Rain and drizzle will push into coastal parts of Connacht and Ulster through the afternoon, but it will remain dry elsewhere, Met Éireann said. Highest temperatures of 5°C to 9°C are forecast, with moderate to fresh southerly winds easing during the day.

Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will continue to affect north and northwestern coasts on Saturday night.

It will remain dry for the rest of the country with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 0°C to 2°C are forecast in the south, with 2°C to 5°C under cloud in the north and west.

Sunday

Eastern and southern areas will be hold dry for much of Sunday. Met Éireann has said it will be generally cloudy as outbreaks of rain will edge slowly over the west and north of the country through the afternoon.

Highest temperatures will range from 8°C to 11°C in moderate, occasionally fresh, southerly winds.

Rain will continue in the west on Sunday night but it will stay dry further east. Lowest temperatures of 1°C to 6°C are forecast, in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.

Current indications suggest that an unsettled regime is set to be established for early next week with rain and showers, breezy at times too.
