There were a few raised eyebrows at a Beef Plan Movement meeting in Ennis on Tuesday when a farmer asked if the newest farm organisation on the block should seek the support of the IFA.
“There’s some very good people in the IFA, and there’s some of them in the room here that even still talk to me,” chair Eamon Corley said with a wry smile.
The Beef Plan Movement was willing to receive support from other farm organisations but would not give them a lead role, Corley added.
