The BETTER Farm NI programme will hold a virtual farm walk on Thursday 22 October at 8pm. Hosting the event will be Jonathan Blair, who runs 90 spring-calving suckler cows outside Ballykelly, Co Derry.
The event will feature a series of pre-recorded videos focusing on cattle type and breeding management, along with weaning management this autumn.

Winter finishing
With cattle born on farm taken through to slaughter, discussions will also focus on winter finishing and the role of high-quality silage in intensive bull-beef systems.
Jonathan will also be joined by the farm’s vet Craig Campbell to discuss this year’s scanning results and the herd health issues on farm.
