A nice field of 23ac outside Athboy in Co Meath is on the market and going for auction on Wendesday 7 October. It’s at Woodtown West, which is on a cul de sac off the Athboy to Delvin road, the N51, and so about 4km from Athboy. It has been brough to the market by TE Potterton and is an executor’s sale.

This is good ground. In recent years it was used for potatoes and then wheat. It’s back in grassland for the last few years and is clean pasture. There’s a stream along one side. There is frontage on to the cul de sac.

Auctioneer Thomas Potterton says that there is already good interest from local farmers and that it will also be of interest to non-farmers looking for a base in Co Meath. The guide price is €8,500/ac to €10,000/ac, he said.
