The new Continental VF TractorMaster Hybrid tyre range has been designed for both road and field work, typical of that experienced around silage time. The range features VF (very high flexion) technology and a tread pattern that offers improved comfort and durability on the road while protecting the sward during field use. Tyres are equipped with a pressure-monitoring sensor.

The sensor communicates pressure and temperature data to a terminal inside the cab which is said to help the operator set the correct pressures.

According to Richard Hutchins, Continental tyre specialist, the VF TractorMaster Hybrid was specifically designed for all-round performance for users frequently transitioning from field to road, therefore ideally suiting tractors on silage trailer duty.

VF Continental Hybrid tyres are now available and include sensors that continuously monitor the pressure and temperature of the tyre.

The manufacturer says that its VF tyres can carry 40% more load than a standard tyre at the same pressure. Alternatively, in the field, the pressure can be lowered by 40%, even when carrying the same load. The structure of the VF tyre carcase is more resistant than standard tyres so the tyre can operate at lower pressures in the field and at higher speeds on the road.

This, Continental believes, will make hybrid tyres a popular choice for silage and harvest work.
