On Saturday 20 March, Hennessy Auctioneers held its monthly machinery auction at the old mart in Portlaoise. The auction as usual had a strong number of entries, this time round totalling at 441.

The sale commenced at 11am on the Livestock Live app (LSL). There was an increased level of interest again this month with a total of 551 bidders registered having paid the €250 refundable deposit. Of the 441 lots offered, 379 were sold resulting in a clearance rate of 88%.

Commenting on Saturday’s auction, John Hennessy said; “Once again, there was a great demand for all types of equipment large and small. This month we had another large entry of 441 lots which we finished up in under seven hours, averaging almost 65 lots per hour.”
