The price of straight fertilisers increased by 23.5% in June of this year compared to the same month last year, the latest data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows.
Compound fertiliser prices are up 15% on the same period. Prices for all farm inputs have increased on last year, with electricity prices up 9.6% and fuel costs up almost 20%.
Animal feed prices are up 10.2%, with straight feed up 15.6% and compound feed up almost 10%.
