FTMTA Farm Machinery Show
The official closing date for receipt of completed applications in relation to the FTMTA Farm Machinery Show has passed and, as expected, there has been very heavy demand for exhibition space. The allocation of stand space for completed bookings is now under way. There is a limited amount of space remaining and any other firms interested in booking a stand should contact FTMTA at show@ftmta.ie or at 045 409309 as soon as possible. Such applications will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis subject to receipt of completed booking form.
Golf society outing

The autumn outing of the FTMTA Golfing Society was held recently at Athy Golf Club with over 30 players despite very challenging weather conditions on the day. The overall winner and recipient of the Irish Farmers Journal cup was Charles Cavanagh of Abbey Machinery Ltd, Nenagh, Co Tipperary. In a double victory for the family, Bernadette Cavanagh was the winner of the ladies section. The Society gratefully acknowledges the generous sponsorship by the Irish Farmers Journal of the prizes on the day.
The AGM of the society was held at the conclusion of the day’s golf and John Mulhall of Kverneland Group Ireland was elected as incoming captain with Colm Brennan as his vice-captain.
Samco in China
FTMTA member firm Samco Agricultural Manufacturing Ltd has secured a purchase agreement with Xingye Planting Co Ltd and Ruitian Modern Agriculture Co Ltd based in Inner Mongolia, Northern China, for their Samco maize planting machine and bio-degradable mulch film. The announcement was made during this week’s trade mission to China led by Minister for Agriculture Food and the Marine Simon Coveney and is further evidence of the global reach of Ireland’s agricultural machinery manufacturing firms.
