A man in his early 50s has died following a farm accident involving a tractor in the Glenville area of Co Cork.
Gardaí in Fermoy and the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) are investigating the accident.
A garda spokesperson told the Irish Farmers Journal that the alarm was raised at approximately 5.30pm on Wednesday and emergency services and gardaí attended at the scene.
"The man was pronounced dead a short time later. His body has since been removed to the mortuary at CUH where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
"The scene of the incident is preserved pending further examination by gardaí and the HSA. A file will be prepared for the local coroner," the spokesperson said.
