The sale on Thursday last saw a good trade for all good-quality cattle, with prices slightly better than the previous week. Weanling heifers were up a touch this week, with stronger farmer demand for them, especially better-quality types. Prices have edged up probably €10 to €15/head as a result. Exporters continue to be active for several different types of bulls, which has helped prices in recent weeks. At the upper end of the bulls, feeder buyers continue to be very active this week between strong bulls and lighter types suitable for a run at grass before further finishing.
