Agriculture Minister Andrew Muir has appointed Dublin-based management consultant, Karen Brosnan as the external facilitator to a Nutrients Action Programme (NAP) Task and Finish Group.
The group, made up of representatives from farming, food, environment and government is to consider responses to DAERA’s NAP consultation which concluded in July, plus any other solutions and come forward with new NAP proposals for consideration by Minister Muir.
Welcoming her appointment, Minister Muir said he hoped her independence, expertise and experience will help ensure a successful output. “It is important that the Group now progresses its work with pace, to agree proposals that are evidence based, workable at farm level within realistic timeframes and which meet legislative requirements,” he said.
