Speed limit changes

The Government’s speed limits has published its recommendations to reform the speed limit system and ensure that every speed limit in Ireland is both safe and sensible. It suggests a new appeals mechanism for inconsistent speed limits and the removal of misleading 80km/h limits on narrow country roads. Every speed limit in the country will be audited every five years by the National Roads Authority or the local authority.

Mustang for Europe

Ford will unveil it’s first Mustang for sale in Europe, the sixth generation of the iconic car that will celebrate 50 years in production next year. The new Mustang will be making its debut on 5 December. Ford is teaming up with Facebook and Instagram to showcase what Mustang has meant to its millions of fans during the last 50 years. Currently, Mustang has over it has more than five million fans on Facebook.

Michelin appeal

Tyre maker Michelin is urging parents of new drivers to consider buying tyres for their children this Christmas. Michelin made the call after research by British based TyreSafe concluded that young drivers are at greater risk of being involved in tyre-related accidents than older motorists. More than a third of drivers aged between 18 and 25 have never checked their tread depth. Two thirds had not checked their tread within the last month.

New Skoda Yeti

Skoda claims that the new Yeti has been improved to make it even more attractive, in terms of design, technology and functionality. Entry prices is €24,490. One of the most notable changes is the addition of a new rugged version called the Outdoor. The Outdoor includes a full length panoramic sunroof and new exterior aluminium design features that give the Yeti a more off-road style. In total, there are 32 variations available.

Volkswagen claims that its 2014 new car customers will get the full VIP treatment ,with a new Volkswagen Investment Package. In 2014, Volkswagen cars will come with three years free servicing, warranty and roadside assistance. Volkswagen is also offering a 3.9% APR finance rate across the range of Volkswagen passenger cars. This means that motorists can get into,e.g., a Volkswagen Polo from as little as €159 per month.
