Some nine farmers still owe €74,111 collectively in super levies since quotas were abolished in 2015.

The Super Levy Instalment Scheme was introduced in 2015, when Ireland exceeded its quota by 4.4%, incurring a levy bill of €71m for 6,400 farmers. Interest on the remaining sum is charged at 3% per annum on the amount owed.

“They are strongly encouraged to engage with the relevant officials in my Department.”
