Accumulations

“Accumulations of between 25mm and 40mm of rain were likely in a short time period with the risk of spot flooding possible in certain areas," it said.

A similar weather warning was issued for most of Northern Ireland, with more heavy downpours forecast for Friday evening and most of Saturday.

Met Éireann is also predicting more rain, particularly over the northern half of the country, with conditions remaining unsettled over the weekend.

However, Sunday is promising to be a brighter and sunnier day, before conditions become unsettled yet again for much of Monday and Tuesday.
