The All-Ireland and All-Nations Sheep Shearing and Wool Handling Championships is returning to the 2019 calendar and will take place on Sunday 26 May in the grounds of Cashel Rugby Club.

The main sponsors of the event are MSD Animal Health and Chanelle, with a strong focus also on the day on animal health.

Animal health village

This includes an animal health village where companies will be present to talk with patrons, while a number of short presentations will also be delivered on sheep, beef and dairy health.

Chair of the event is Michael O’Connor from O’Connor and Julian veterinary practitioners and members of XL Vets.

Sunday’s shearing will be a busy and entertaining affair, with all-Ireland and all-nations competitions taking place, with shearers from all corners of Ireland and the British Isles competing.

Other attractions

There will also be lots of other attractions to cater for different interests.

Machinery and equipment stands will represent many areas of production, including day-to-day farming operations, feeding systems, fencing and security options.

The financial side of farming and business will also be serviced, with farm financial advice and insurance companies in attendance.

Family fun

Exhibits and stands extend outside a farming audience, with lots on offer for all members of the family.

A food village will showcase local and national food producers, with the organising committee highlighting the presence of artisan food producers.

The fun village will include a fun fair and associated entertainment, while music and refreshments will also be provided on site.
