Thursday night will be cold with patchy frost in the east and north of the country, according to Met Éireann.

Temperatures will dip to as low as 0°C in some places but are expected to rise by dawn.

Friday will be cold and breezy with some showers throughout the day. Rain will be heaviest in Atlantic coastal regions.
