Two livestock boats will load with cattle over the coming days for export to Turkey and Libya.
A boat is due to arrive at Greenore port on Saturday evening. It will be loaded by Co Meath-based Viastar with weanling beef bulls for delivery to Turkey. The feeder weight cattle will be finished on Turkish farms.
A second boat arrives on Monday and will be loaded with Friesian and beef-bred bulls by Purcell Brothers for delivery to Libya. These bulls will mainly go for finishing on Libyan farms.

These will be the final two export boats of 2020. They will bring the number of cattle exported to Turkey and Libya this year to over 10,000 each.
