Friday

Showers will be widespread across the country on Friday morning, giving way to longer spells of rain in places, Met Éireann has said.

Brighter weather will extend southwards during the day, with a mix of sunny spells and showers.

Heavy downpours are possible in Ulster with a risk of hail and thunder. Highest temperatures of 9°C to 12°C.

Showers will continue on Friday night in Ulster and Connacht, with everywhere else clear and dry. Lowest temperatures of 5°C to 8°C in moderate westerly breezes.

Saturday

Saturday will be a largely dry and bright day, with scattered light showers. Top temperatures of 11°C to 13°C.

By night, Saturday will remain largely clear and dry, with lows of 4°C to 7°C.

Sunday

Sunday will be another dry day with a bright start, which will give way to a cloudier afternoon. Max temperatures of 11°C to 13°C in light breezes.

Cloud will thicken from the Atlantic in the evening, with outbreaks of rain sweeping across the country on Sunday night. Lowest temperatures of 6°C to 9°C overnight.

Week ahead

The rain will clear eastern areas early on Monday and it will become largely dry and settled through to midweek, but will remain cool for the time of year.
