Last month, 10 members of Co Cavan’s very own Ramor Macra club made the long but worthwhile trip to Killarney, Co Kerry, where they were greeted and chaperoned around the town by members of Killarney Macra. The Friday evening’s antics included visits to various local pubs with lots of lively traditional music and dancing before ending the night in the popular Grand Hotel nightclub.

On Saturday morning, both Killarney and Ramor club members enjoyed a nautical experience as they set sail on the crisp teardrop waters across Lough Leane, Muckross Lake and the Upper Lake, (also famously known as the ‘‘Meeting of the Waters’’).

This scenic voyage took in the glorious sites and surrounding spectacular views such as the Torc and Purple Mountains, the Colleen Bawn Rock and Innisfallen Island.

After docking at Lord Brandan’s Cottage and refuelling on teas and scones, both Macra clubs altered their mode of transport as they travelled by horse and jaunting car through the beautiful and world-renowned Gap of Dunloe.

Despite a busy fun-filled day and early start, energy levels were still high and the Killarney-Ramor Macra Club exchange ended with a night out on the town, again taking in Killarney’s most popular and lively night life hot spots.

It was a very successful and fun-filled club exchange at which Killarney Macra showed Ramor a taste of what the award-winning town of Killarney has to offer.

Thanks to all in Killarney Macra who organised the exchange and all those from Ramor Macra club who made the big effort to attend.

Killarney Macra highly recommends clubs to undertake an exchange in 2018.
