Good-quality cattle are still a very good trade, especially good bull weanlings. We have noticed that heifer prices are under a little more pressure in the past week or two and this is evident at the ring. I suppose another feature of the trade has been a more variable entry of stock on offer, with a greater proportion of plainer cattle entered into the sale. This has meant that average prices have taken a hit. Store bullock prices have eased slightly also, but they may now be a little better value than the equivalent weanling bull.
