As the sun rises on Saturday 7 March, young farmers from all over the country will be taking to the roads of Meath in their tractors to support Save Our Sons And Daughters (SOSAD), the Irish suicide prevention and bereavement support charity.

After last year’s success, which raised over €2,000 for SOSAD and had 51 tractors and two fire engines taking part, the tractor run will return for its third year.

Meath Macra is now aiming to have more tractors, raise more money and encourage more Parade of Light tractor runs around the country, all while raising awareness for suicide prevention.

Last year’s run was enjoyed by both the drivers and organisers, along with the few spectators who were up early enough to spot the run from their windows.

Registration

The event is open to anyone interested in taking part. Tractors are asked to be in attendance at Trim GAA club at 5am on Saturday 7 March for registration.

The tractor run is scheduled to depart at 5.30am.

An entry fee will not apply. However, tractor drivers will be asked to make a donation to SOSAD.

Refreshments will be served to drivers after the tractor run and they will also have the chance to take home some fantastic sponsored raffle prizes.
