Argentina – export tax reduced
Argentina has reduced the government tax on beef and poultry meat exports from 6.5% to 5%, soyabeans from 33% to 26% and maize and sorghum from 12% to 9%.
New Zealand – dairy exports decline

New Zealand dairy exports for the first half of 2025 were down almost 1%, or 108.9m kg (105.6m litres) liquid milk equivalent (DCA).
China – pig production increases
The output of live pigs in China increased by 0.6% in the first half of 2025 to 36.619m head, but pork production increased by 1.3%, indicating higher slaughter weights (Bord Bia).
Britain – lamb sales fall
There was a 9.7% fall in spend on lamb retail products and a 14% decline in volume purchases year on year in the 12 weeks ending 13 July (AHDB/World panel by Numerator UK).
