Some €200m in ANC (disadvantaged areas) payments will be made to farmers in the coming week. The Department of Agriculture has confirmed that 95,000 farmers will received their money from early next week.
IFA deputy president Richard Kennedy described the payments as vital, given the difficult weather over the past month.
He said this must be followed by a 70% advance of the BPS on 16 October and GLAS and other schemes in November and December.
