With the continued good weather there are more reports of wildfires breaking out. The most recent one has been reported on a bog near the village of Frenchpark, Co Roscommon.

Three units of Roscommon Fire Brigade are attended the bog fire near Frenchpark. Emergency services have also attended a car crash in the same vicinity on the Castlerea Road out of Frenchpark. The R361 from Frenchpark to Castlerea is closed until further notice and diversions are in place.

To date in 2017, fire services in Kerry have attended 93 wildfires in the county. Seperately the Donegal fire service was called out to 19 wildfires across the county over the bank holiday weekend just passed.

In the last number of weeks wildfires have also been reported in Dublin and west Cork.
