I hear that the Macra CEO Denis Duggan is heading for pastures new in the new year. As I understand it, Duggan’s contract at the young farmer’s organisation is up at the end of the year. He will then move into a new job as CEO of another organisation, still in the agriculture realm but not hard-core farming. He wouldn’t be the first Macra boss to transfer from farming to the equine sector. Damian McDonald, current IFA director general, made a similar move some years ago.
