Curvy

Opt for a swimsuit with added support. Be it secret support panels that will pull you in or underwire to keep your boobs where they belong, spend the most you can afford. As in many areas in life, you get what you pay for and the material used in slightly more expensive suits is more rigid, meaning it will give more support. High-waisted briefs hide a multitude, as does a long-line bra. The 1950s silhouette suits you best and it has never been more in fashion so don’t restrict yourself to a one piece. Experiment with different cuts and colours and find something that makes you feel great.

Sporty

The world is your oyster. Because your body is toned, the current trend for cutaway and plunge swimsuits is perfect for you. Just remember that there’s not an awful lot of material holding you in so any sudden moves could see your modesty disappear.

Petite

Experiment with ruffles and frills to your heart’s content, as they’ll give the illusion of curves where there are none. Higher cut briefs will make your legs look longer, while clashing prints will draw the eye upwards – again making you look taller. Experiment with styles and cuts, triangle tops look great with string briefs.

Hourglass

You need to show off that tiny waist. If you’re more comfortable in a one piece then choose something that has ruching on the side or has side panels in a differing colour to draw attention to your slimmest area. If going for a bikini, high-waisted briefs are a better option as they draw the eye to the waist. Hidden underwiring will keep your boobs away from your waist, which will make your figure look more in proportion.
