DEAR SIR: The factories are currently pulling beef prices with no reason for the price pressure.
Last week, they were very short on numbers and saw this as a problem for the coming four to six weeks and have started killing cattle out of feedlots and have agents buying whatever they can.
They will inevitably try and pull it down another 5c or 10c next week but just remember they can only kill an animal once and they are going through these cattle very quickly.
Now is the time to only kill over-fat animals and cattle coming up to their age.
No matter what they tell you, the numbers simply aren’t there and they are doing what they always do to try to panic farmers into selling.
