Irish agri tech startup MagGrow has secured an additional €3m in investor funding that will accelerate the company’s growth in key target markets over the coming years. MagGrow said the funding will be used to further invest in developing its distribution platform to service customers in both existing and new markets.

Based in Dublin, MagGrow was founded in 2013 by brothers Gary and Derek Wickham along with David Moore. The company developed and commercialised a new technology for droplet formation on sprayers that reduces spray drift by over 70% and improves spray coverage of pesticides on crops by as much as 40%.

MagGrow employs over 25 people and currently operates in four main territories – the US, Canada, Europe and South Africa.

MagGrow chief executive Gary Wickham said the latest funding round would also allow the company to continue developing its underlying technology. “To date the company has raised in excess of €10m to fund the development of its current product portfolio and successfully launched in a number of key markets,” said Wickham.
