Mexican authorities have concluded inspections on six pig export plants in Ireland.
The south American country is the fourth largest importer of chilled and frozen pork in the world. Kepak confirmed that the McCarren pig plant was inspected, as well as Dawn and Stauntons.
The Department of Agriculture is currently awaiting the Mexican audit report and intends to recruit an agricultural attaché to the Mexico Embassy later in 2019.
