Fresh milk processing at North Cork Co-op was temporarily suspended this week, following a COVID-19 outbreak among staff members at the processing facility in Kanturk, north Cork.

In a statement this week, a spokesperson for the co-op said: “We’ve recently had a small number of cases in the past two weeks (single digit) and these are isolated, not working, and due to return to work in the days ahead. People who can are also working from home.

“The few recent cases were in our liquid plant, so we temporarily suspended processing of liquid milk to keep staff safe, but in total, we’re operating as normal across all facilities and our supply chain is unaffected.”
