For the week ending 3 September, some 1,325t of skim milk powder (SMP) was offered into the public intervention measure.

This is the largest amount of product that has been offered to the measure since May.

Poland led the charge this week, offering 722t of SMP. It is the first time they have used the measure since April.

France lodged 384t to intervention last week while Latvia offered 75t.

Last week was also the first time since May that the UK offered SMP to the measure, offering 144t. The total volume offered into the scheme since the start of 2017 now stands at 10,043t and since the measure began to be used in June 2015, some 384,000t of SMP has been offered.

Since the tender process, to sell SMP out of intervention, began in December of last year, just 140t has been sold out of the scheme.

To date this year, Ireland has not offered any product to the measure. In 2015, some 1,843t was lodged into the measure and in 2016 35,997t was lodged.
