Farmers participating in the Beef Data and Genomics Programme have only until 1 December to complete the 2019 carbon navigator.

Producers who have not completed the 2019 requirement will have received a hardcopy application in the last week and must ensure this is posted in time to arrive on or before 1 December.

Failure to complete the carbon navigator by this date will result in participants forgoing that element of the payment (10%), with this doubled up into a penalty of 20%.

Reports indicate the Department is planning to start payments in early December. Any outstanding survey information should also be returned by 1 December to ensure the maximum payment at this time.

There are only a handful of topics that information is required on and all relate to the 2019 calendar year. These include turnout and housing dates, the volume of chemical and organic fertiliser applied and information relating to this along with a record on the volume of concentrates fed.
