Recent weeks have seen a flurry of land buying in Co Wexford. Two more parcels of nice land have now come on the market, not far from Gorey. Both are non-residential.

The first is 32ac at Knockbrandon in one block. The land is 500m down a laneway, which is off the main Carnew to Gorey road, the R725.

Of the total, 22ac is currently in tillage and is excellent-quality land. The remaining 10ac is grassland and described by the auctioneer, David Quinn of Quinn Property, as in need of some improvement work.

There is a watercourse running along the western boundary of the holding and mature trees on the field sides. There is the remains of a traditional stone-built farmhouse on the land.

Guide price

The location is 5km from Carnew and 11km from Gorey. The land will be sold by auction on Wednesday 9 December at 2pm in Carnew Mart. The guide price for this block of land is €250,000 to €270,000.

The second parcel, also on offer from Quinn Property, is 10ac in one block, located out the other side of Gorey, at Kilmurray. That puts is just 3km from Gorey, 4km from Ballymoney.

This ground is currently in stubble and suitable for all types of farming. Again, the land in this area is good.

This ground, too, goes for auction on Wednesday 9 December in Carnew Mart and the guide price is €150,000.
