A Dublin businessman bought a 25-acre land parcel in Co Meath recently. The 25 acres in Kildalkey, Co Meath sold under the hammer for €280,000 or €11,200/ac.

The bidding opened at €150,000 or €6,000/ac with three bidders pushing the price up to €180,000 or €7,200/ac. From this point on, two bidders took on the mantle and the farm was put on the market at €260,000 or just over €10,000/ac. The hammer eventually fell at €280,000 or €11,200/ac.

The buyer was a businessman from Dublin with a residence in the locality. The agent handling the sale was Thomas Potterton. He explained that the man was looking to purchase land in the area for quite some time and was delighted with the result.

The farm has a fine location, (it is situated just outside Kildalkey village and just 8km from both Trim and Athboy).

It is good arable land and has been rented for the last number of years but has been farmed in good nature. It is laid out in one field and was sold by a retired farmer.
