Livestock farmers across Scotland have the opportunity to take part in a series of workshops aiming to help farmers improve their livestock selection and presentation for slaughter.
The practical events, Meat the Market, are organised by QMS and will be held at various processing plants where farmers will learn about the key factors that need to be considered to ensure that their livestock meet target carcase specifications required processors.
Focusing on either beef or lamb, the events will also explain market specifications, carcase grading and presentation as well as how carcase specifications may differ based on customer requirements. The first of the series of workshops will take place at Kepak MacIntosh Donald, Aberdeenshire on Tuesday 23 October and will focus on cattle selection.
