Representatives from Bord Bia, Glanbia and the Irish Farmers Association (IFA) are among a list of European delegates that will travel to Japan this Wednesday on a trade mission. The group is being led by EU Commissioner for Agriculture Phil Hogan.

The purpose of the visit is to facilitate European food and beverage exports now that the EU-Japan trade deal has entered into force.

It will give delegates the change to meet potential partners from the Japanese agri food sector. Those on the mission will attend seminars on the characteristics of the local market and consumer trends, retail and site visits and networking opportunities.

The trade mission is a four-day trip.
